The University of Delhi received a total of 1324 Overseas applications for the academic session 2021-22. DU’s Foreign Students Registry(FSR) committee reported that students from about 61 countries have applied.
DU welcomed online applications in April for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses from foreign students all around the world. The applications included 185 applications from Nepal, 156 from Tibet, 10 from Vietnam, seven from Thailand, five from Sri Lanka. Other applicants are from Bangladesh, China, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Iraq, Japan, and Jordan among other countries.
In the meantime, the government’s decision on CUCET is expected soon. DU acting Vice-Chancellor, PC Joshi said, “We are hoping for CUCET to become a reality. The admission process is anyway going to get delayed till September, hence a central entrance exam will only bring uniformity in the admission process as boards have already adopted different marking schemes for class 12 students this year.”
ADMISSIONS 2021
According to the latest reports, The University of Delhi is expected to start the registration for 2021 by the third week of July. The registrations for Merit-based admissions will start after CBSE along with other boards releases results for Class 12. The registrations for admission to entrance test-based and postgraduate courses before starting the process for the remaining merit-based undergraduate courses.
DU admissions, Chairman, Rajeev Gupta said, “We might start the registration process (for admissions) by the third week of July. There are chances that we might start the registration process for the nine entrance-based courses and postgraduate courses by that time in the first phase and then the registration process for the merit-based courses. The gap between the two phases won’t be more than a week or 10 days.”
