Higher Education – something that acts as a nation builder for the society. The society gets its bit from the initial schooling but the further shaping up of the clay pot is done by the university education.
So, here is UGC with it’s another new norm to extend the benefits in order to encourage post graduate studies. The commission is coming forward to provide the scholarship to students who would secure ranks on the UG level in the university overall. The scholarship shall be given when the student starts pursuing his/her PG degree from the University.
The scholarship will be tenable for a period of two years. All universities are required to provide a merit certificate to the students obtaining highest ranks in B.A, B.Sc, B.com.
The awardees under this scheme can enroll for PG degrees in any area of specialisation in any university of higher learning in the country.
The benefit will be given only to the first and second rank holders of the university in that particular discipline. The scholarship is however subjected to a minimum of sixty percent marks. The student shall be enrolled to the regular degree program at the masters level.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The student must be pursuing a PG level degree. The student’s age should not extend more that 30 years of age.
HOW TO APPLY:
The applications will be invited once in a year through a notification on the UGC portal and under the National Scholarship Portal Of Incomplete application will be rejected straight forward.
DISBURSAL SYSTEM:
After selection,the awardees will be paid through DBT system. The awardees will be pushed to Public Financial Management System by NIC.
