S.P.M. College Shyama Prasad Mukherjee college (for women) is
named after a well-known Indian Politician SHYAMA PRASAD
MUKHERJEE established in 1969.
The college is situated in Punjabi
bagh of New Delhi. Today college is functioning under the dedicated
and inspiring Dr. (Ms.) Surjit Kaur Jolly. College offers various
courses in the field of humanities, commerce and B.SC(H) in
Computer Science and Maths, also provides professional teaching
courses B.El.Ed and B.Ed. . College has an extra-ordinary faculty that
are determined to their work and are very helpful to their fellows
and students. The College has necessary infrastructure for
harmonious development of the personality of students. The college
has spacious building containing lecture rooms consisting of
projectors in every of them that help in the digital learning of
students, college also have two lawns in front of college building
that are maintained very well in these lawns various types of flowers
and trees are planted that looks very beautiful and increases the
greenery of college. College has state of art fully air conditioned
Auditorium, well equipped & fully computerized Library all books
related to courses offered and extra knowledgeable books are also
there, state of art Gym, well-furnished classrooms, Computer labs,
Psychology lab, Food & Technology lab, Seminar hall and Audio
Visual room. College have UGC established study centres-Buddhist,
Guru Nanak and Gandhian study centre. College have various
societies where students can enhance and show their skills like
dance society, music society, fashion society and also there are
department wise societies that are made to increase
students-teachers relationship and juniors-seniors relationship as
well. NSS/NCC/SPORTS are also there in the college. Campus
building contains a cool canteen that serves various delicious
eatables and beverages with a spacious dining area in it. Campus
building has Photostat and stationery shops to fulfil the students and
teacher’s needs. Locality is well equipped with ATM facility adjacent
to campus building. Excellent transport facilities are available,
campus is well connected to public transport (DTC bus, metro, etc.).
College also has enrolled foreign, differently abled students. College
takes special care of the visually impaired differently abled students.
College provides adequate infrastructure support such as ramp,
wheel chairs, washrooms, special pavements for their movement
within college premises. Various cultural programmes takes place in
the college and the college is highly active in organising
competitions at department as well as college level. The major
attractions of the college are MISS SPM CONTEST, Cultural
festival SRIJAN, college ANNUAL DAY and SPORTS DAY. This
college is committed to prepare young girls to face the challenges of
the modern world.
