All You Need To Know About Migration in Delhi University

Fetching admissions in the college of your choice in Delhi University is a tough task to accomplish. The process of admission undergoes baffling rounds of varied procedures. So,if you haven’t been able to get into your dream college, then ‘migration’ is just your thing.

Migration is the process which allows you yo be into a different college in your third semester, owing to the permissions from your present as well as the next college and to the number of seats available in the new college.
This depends on the permission from the principals of both the colleges and is not to be treated as a matter of choice of the student.Certain rules that need to be followed for the same are:

●) The policy of reservations is not applicable in case of migration.
●) Students cannot migrate from a regular college to School of Open Learning or Non Collegiate Women’s Educational Board.
●) Migration is not possible in another college in another course.
●) Students cannot migrate in the fifth semester or this is not possible on the post-graduate level.
●) Only students who have passed both the examinations of the first year are allowed to migrate.
●) Migration can be sought within the office hours till August 31 (tentatively).

There are certain documents required to satisfy migratory rules. These are:
a) No Objection certificate from the Head of the college where the student is studying as well as where he /she wants to migrate.
b) A learning certificate from the Head of the concerned college.
c) Marksheet of the exams already passed in the previous year.

Another important stashed aspect of migrations in DU is the ‘Inter-university migration’.You can go for the same provided the conditions of your parents being transferred to Delhi or are inhabitants of Delhi already. It is applicable for students in the B.A and B.Com courses.
These above mentioned rules are no doubt a bit puzzling one but then a boon for those aspiring for the same!
