The University of Delhi Online registrations for Undergraduate admissions is likely to start from August 01-03 and for Postgraduate admissions from July 26, 2021. While the likelihood of CUCET is low; the Ministry of Education’s decision on CUCET is still anticipated.
Pinki Sharma, Dean of Admissions said, “We are yet to get a final decision on CUCET. So, the admission committee has decided a tentative date to start the registration process for UG and PG courses. The currently decided date is for merit based admission. In case CUCET is not implemented, the university will start the registration process from the said date for the merit based admission.”

The common entrance test is part of the National Education Policy implemented last year. After Class XII board exams were cancelled due to the pandemic CUCET’s fate has been under consideration. A source informed, “The CUCET will most likely not happen this year. The PG admissions will be conducted like last year and the UG admissions will also be conducted on merit basis based on the results declared by the CBSE and state boards. The admission will be completely online like last year.”
Another official, Delhi University Registrar Vikas Gupta said, “As of now, these are the tentative dates for registration. We are awaiting further instructions. In case the government plans to conduct CUCET, we shall abide by the directives.”
“We are trying to start registrations from the last week of July, but unless we get dates from the NTA (National Testing Agency) it will be slightly difficult. The NTA has announced the NEET dates, so hopefully, we will soon get to know the dates for DUET (Delhi University Entrance Test) too,” Chairperson, Admissions, Rajeev Gupta said.
The final details of the registration will be announced by the registrar on Monday. The University earlier was to start registrations by July 15, which were postponed to the end of July.
