Delhi University (DU) released its fourth cut-off list for admissions on Wednesday. Many colleges have now closed admissions to several courses while those that have kept admissions open have announced only a marginal dip in cut-offs.
The fourth cut-off saw a dip of 0.25 per cent from the previous list with the highest settling at 97.75 per cent for BA (Hons) Psychology course at Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR).
Students who have not yet secured a seat will find options running out as the cut-offs are not likely to dip further. In the third cut-off list, many colleges reopened their admission as applicants withdrew their admissions, but this was not the case in the fourth list.
Hindu College has closed 15 of its 17 courses with only B.Sc (Hons.) Statistics, B.A. (Hons.) English and Sociology open. Miranda House has closed 14 of the 18 courses it offers with seats still available for B.A. (Hons.) in English, Sociology, B.A. (Programme), and B.Sc (Hons.) Botany.
Hans Raj College has closed seven of its 18 courses and has announced only a marginal dip in cut-offs.
Kirori Mal College has closed admission to 14 out of its 21 courses.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, which announced the highest cut-off under the first list, has seen a major dip in required scores with the required percentage for B.A. (Hons.) falling from 98% to 94.25%. Cut-off for B.Sc (Hons.) Electronics have fallen from 99.66% to 98.33%.
In South Campus, Lady Shri Ram College has kept only five of its 14 courses open. The courses open include B.A. in English, History, Journalism, Philosophy and Psychology — the cut-offs for the courses are 96.5, 96.25, 97.25, 91.5 and 97.75 respectively.
Dyal Singh Collge has closed 14 of the 22 courses it offers. Sri Venkateswara College has shut eight of its 20 courses. In Zakir Husain College, most of the commerce and arts courses are closed but seats are still up for grabs in all its science courses.
Seats have also started filling up at evening colleges with Motilal Nehru College (evening) closing six of its seven courses it offers.
Document verification for students seeking admission under the fourth list will be done between July 13 and 15.
The last cut off-list will be declared on July 18.
The university has said that further cut-off lists may be declared, depending on vacant seats in colleges.
