With the news of girls finally having no GST on their periods comes another good initiative in the national capital city of India, the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) vice-president Kunal Sehrawat has been given approval by the University authorities to set up 32 medium sanitary napkin machines in as many DU colleges (North Campus) by 28 August.
And you know what the best part is? Each of these machines can store up to 25 napkins and can be accessed by all students.
Kunal Sehrawat said that he had approached the university for permission to place machines in colleges as many female students will benefit from the initiative. “They can easily access to sanitary pads which should necessarily be available for them.”
However, some of the DU Colleges already have this napkin vending machines in their premises and those colleges who don’t have it yet there will soon be one. So, It is undoubtedly a step towards the betterment.
