The first and foremost thing about activism in students of universities is something that upholds the awareness amongst students or representative bodies of the collective mass who want to put an effort that is beneficial for the students because the framework of the administrative forces may or may not be able to figure out the general problems faced by the students, so these bodies basically help them analyse such problems and find a solution to it. Now, the activism persists in varied forms and layers within the mass and if we browse through, it results in two such wide formats. The first one is the Philanthropic activism, an absolutely humanitarian and liberal approach which deals in welfare of others. The fundamentalism of such activism is to serve people at the very ground level by helping them fight through the adversities and miseries of life, upholding environmental issues, setting up campaigns for the social causes such as women empowerment, mandate education, etcetera. The second one is Socio-Political activism, involves more of an approach which focuses on bringing a change through educating the greater mass in terms of rationality, analytically and ethically. The basic principle behind such an ideology is that the state or the administrative forces working within their criteria are not transparent enough and students being the direct recipients of such effects have to face the consequences, hence their existence in the universities shall not be a platform for experiment and they should be allowed to choose what’s best suited for them, this the reason why such form of activism exists.
There has always been a need for activism which provokes people to stand up and speak against the forces which are exploiting the mass being aware of the fact that only few people really care about what’s happening around them because they don’t consider such issues to be an existing problem. But the section which actually facing the misery is not loud enough to be noticeable, so somewhere it’s the morale that strikes us to speak for such causes. Talking of morale, it shall too be mentioned that there are certain misconceptions about activism in this very format, nowadays people have started romanticising activism because being a part of it makes them feel overwhelming as they are working for the greater good and start publicising such things on social media and glorifying the events and quantifying it to be bed of roses. Such interpretations do nothing except adulteration of serious issues, activism is a dedicated and statutory process of bringing change in the formats and helping them to revise such guidelines which are optimal to beneficiaries. And its high time to educate people with the fact that they shouldn’t trust the source of information they receive on social media or on internet, it’s their responsibility evaluate the source and get to the core to find the basic roots of the problem. The presence of analytics filters a lot of garbage that is being served to us in fascinating ways from varied layers and yes of course to rationalise criteria with proper logic because there is no sentiment that nullfies genuine issues. Humanity is what we shall believe in because in a war the dictator doesn’t die.
