Delhi University May Increase NCWEB Seats This Academic Year

Delhi University’s Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), which offers courses exclusively for women may increase the number of seats to its existing  seats from this academic session 2017-2018.

This year female applicants from the NCT need not register separately for admission to the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB). They need to click gender as female and area of residence as Delhi on the centralised online registration form and they will be automatically registered for admission under NCWEB. The first cutoff for NCWEB will be issued on June 24, 2017 and the list will be displayed on the website (http:www.ncweb.du.ac.in) as well as at all the centres.

Currently, there are 12,200 NCWEB seats at 26 of its centres. A official from Delhi University, said, “If we see that there are a lot of applicants interested in these courses with the NCWEB, policy may be reviewed to accommodate more students.” Source: Hindustan Times

The NCWEB is one of the ‘non-formal’ education centres at the Delhi University, where female students who are residents of NCT Delhi region can get admission to either BA or BCom programmes. The students attend classes just once a week at the centres, assigned as per the cutoffs.

Last year, NCWEB had set the cutoff at 88% and 92% for BA (Programme) and B.Com at Miranda House, while at the Hansraj College centre it had set it at 87% and 91% for BA (Programme) and B.Com.

Non-Collegiate students are, however, not allowed to pursue any other full-time degree course.
